The course, in collaboration with Fujifilm VisualSonics, will concentrate on the latest advances in cardiovascular ultrasound imaging, with a strong focus on translational studies. It is expected to foster the collaboration with researchers and clinicians using US imaging for cardiovascular studies and critically discuss the advantages and limitations of US imaging of the cardiovascular system in translational medicine.
During the first two days, international speakers will be invited to discuss with the attending scientists and clinicians the link between experimental and clinical studies, as well as present the new technological developments, such as 3D echocardiography, strain imaging and photoacustic. Authorised lectures will be recorded and distributed through the ICGEB Podcast Programme. Interactive discussions between participants and faculty will be encouraged during plenary sessions.
All participants will also be invited to submit an abstract for either poster or oral presentation.
Fifteen students will be selected for a hands-on imaging practical session on the third day, aimed at acquiring specific skills in experimental and clinical cardiovascular US imaging. All procedures will be shown by live streaming to the other participants.
A Certificate of Attendance will be provided to all participants.
